A New Partnership with Certemy
ABC is excited to announce a new partnership with Certemy, a certification management software company. Certemy’s instantly configurable software is for professional certification boards and associations who wish to automate a manual, paper-based certification program — or replace custom certification management software that is too difficult or expensive to change.
With Certemy, we will be able to process certification applications and renewals for the Professional Operator and ABC Voluntary certification programs faster and easier while reducing costs and expanding functionality. We will be able to drive efficiency through automation. Build trust through transparency. Add or change any aspect of our certification programs in minutes without IT staff or custom programming. Certemy will proactively guide professionals through the certification process, step by step, so we can spend more time analyzing data and managing exceptions. Our applicants will love the online application process and ease of use, as well as the Digital Wallet, so that all of their documents are just a click away.
We are excited to launch both programs on this web-based software this fall!
Some things we love about the platform:
- We can host both the ABC and PO programs, allowing us to go paperless for the previously paper-only ABC Voluntary program.
- More reporting features built-in, as well as the ability to create custom reports
- A registry of our professionals updated in real-time that we can embed on our website, making it easier to know who is currently certified
- Allows the reviewer to log in as the professional and see what they are seeing
- Continual updates hosted by the platform, at no additional cost to us
- Easier step-by-step applications, with a clearer distinction between exam and reciprocity applications
- Notifications are sent on a recurring basis when certifications are close to the expiration
- A digital wallet for both programs, so that the professional has access to all of the documents they have uploaded, as well as copies of their certificates issued by us, anytime, on their phone or computer-tech/website support by Certemy for any issues the professional or ABC may have.
- More, and easier, customization of all fields held in Certemy. Anything on our side can be changed in a matter of minutes.
- User guide to help answer commonly asked questions, as well as a team at Certemy available for phone support for our candidates.

WPI is excited to announce the upcoming launch of our public-facing AI Assistant, WooPI, on our website. This cutting-edge tool is designed to help users gain an in-depth understanding of our organization and mission. WooPI is thoroughly trained on a wide range of topics, including the certification process, membership details, and testing fundamentals. We encourage you to explore its features and see what it can do for you by trying it out today: WooPI!
WPI is preparing to launch our new online forum on our website. Initially, access will be granted to select groups, including the Board of Directors, C2EP, and the Canadian Certification Committee. This forum will serve as a crucial platform for storing documents and fostering discussions and ideas within the industry.
We are excited to roll out our newly developed standardized exams in Water Treatment, Distribution, Wastewater Treatment, and Collection. These exams represent the pinnacle of industry standards. Both the WPI certification program and the Professional Operator certification program have successfully adopted these exams. Additionally, nine testing clients have initiated the implementation process, and another nine clients are reviewing the exams, with plans to implement them soon.
I would welcome all Board and Commission members to review this document. As we move to create new credentials and address the needs of today and future water environment professionals I invite you to read this document and utilize the findings to shape our discussions and strategic direction. Thank you.
