A New Partnership with Certemy
ABC is excited to announce a new partnership with Certemy, a certification management software company. Certemy’s instantly configurable software is for professional certification boards and associations who wish to automate a manual, paper-based certification program — or replace custom certification management software that is too difficult or expensive to change.
With Certemy, we will be able to process certification applications and renewals for the Professional Operator and ABC Voluntary certification programs faster and easier while reducing costs and expanding functionality. We will be able to drive efficiency through automation. Build trust through transparency. Add or change any aspect of our certification programs in minutes without IT staff or custom programming. Certemy will proactively guide professionals through the certification process, step by step, so we can spend more time analyzing data and managing exceptions. Our applicants will love the online application process and ease of use, as well as the Digital Wallet, so that all of their documents are just a click away.
We are excited to launch both programs on this web-based software this fall!
Some things we love about the platform:
- We can host both the ABC and PO programs, allowing us to go paperless for the previously paper-only ABC Voluntary program.
- More reporting features built-in, as well as the ability to create custom reports
- A registry of our professionals updated in real-time that we can embed on our website, making it easier to know who is currently certified
- Allows the reviewer to log in as the professional and see what they are seeing
- Continual updates hosted by the platform, at no additional cost to us
- Easier step-by-step applications, with a clearer distinction between exam and reciprocity applications
- Notifications are sent on a recurring basis when certifications are close to the expiration
- A digital wallet for both programs, so that the professional has access to all of the documents they have uploaded, as well as copies of their certificates issued by us, anytime, on their phone or computer-tech/website support by Certemy for any issues the professional or ABC may have.
- More, and easier, customization of all fields held in Certemy. Anything on our side can be changed in a matter of minutes.
- User guide to help answer commonly asked questions, as well as a team at Certemy available for phone support for our candidates.

You can find the draft meeting minutes from our January meeting here.
The BOD Meeting for will be hosted September 17th-19th, 2024, in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The agenda and BOD packet will be sent to you closer to the meeting.
In April, our team gathered with more than 30 volunteers, psychometricians, and exam developers for an Item Review Workshop. The Subject Matter Experts were involved in the intensive two-day session to work through possible item banks and correlate items based on the new Need-to-Know documents. This is a vital step in the exam development process and keeps us on track to roll out new exams later this year.
The exam translation initiative is on track for a release this summer. We have received the Spanish files and will be uploading them with PSI for testing services.
We are in the process of migrating all CBT clients to a new scheduling system with PSI, Unified Candidate Scheduling System (UCS 2.0). We are excited to move our programs onto this new platform which is a modern, robust, and proven tool for candidate scheduling and management and should solve several of the pitfalls we see as the older system is deprecated. We anticipated this migration to be completed by this juncture, however, a few challenges have prevented us from making as smooth a transition as we’d expected.
The reporting functions are not working as they previously did due to the new system’s inability to communicate with the old system. We continue to reinforce to PSI the fact that accurate reporting is imperative, and we need the system to be fully functional. Alas we cannot make the programmers write new code any faster than they are able. In the meantime, we attempt to allay the frustrations of every program encountering struggles through thoughtful problem-solving and communication. We have primarily been able to provide each program the information they require using alternative methods.
Reporting issues aside, there are many great features and upgrades in this new system that weren’t available in the old. The UCS2 scheduling platform is much more candidate centric and intuitive. Each program has a customizable dedicated landing page so a logo, background image, and program specific language may be incorporated. This allows candidates to easily recognize they are in the correct spot when scheduling their exams. There are two portals for each program in the UCS2 platform; one is the new candidate portal that allows each candidate to create a personal account to schedule, reschedule, access payment receipts, and view test results and score reports of their completed exams at their leisure. The program’s login allows them to see all the information in their candidates’ portals, review scheduling, obtain reports, and make any necessary updates.
The UCS2 system also provides the opportunity to implement Remote Proctoring (RP) for all CBT programs. This modality was unavailable in the previous system, so only select CBT programs had access to it. If you are interested in pursuing this for your program, please let us know and we can begin discussion on implementation and timelines for these services.
If needed, please complete the expense report below and submit to Paul, Tom, and Haley for processing.
